Catahoula Designs: Catahoula Designs is a merchandise branch of Louisiana, Home Inc. Through the sales of products, such as historically inspired t-shirts and bags, Catahoula Designs raises funds and directs all profits towards historic preservation while increasing public awareness and interest in local culture, preservation, and history.

New Guards: The New Guards of Louisiana is a recognition program for students and young professionals who are involved with and support projects that involve Louisiana history, architecture, and/or culture, and securing the state’s heritage for his or her and future generations. While the immediate protection of material culture is important, it is critical to ensure that we pass down the skills, knowledge, and interest that supports the history and culture we are working to protect and to ensure that these practices are sustained. From this, it is the goal of the Louisiana New Guards to promote youth interest and engagement in Louisiana historic and cultural preservation. Further, by promoting this involvement, the New Guards hopes to develop a cross-generational dialogue to fuel our cultural preservation.

The River Road Initiative: Louisiana, Home is committed to the protection of Louisiana’s architectural and historical heritage through the development and support of authentic, interactive sites and exhibits throughout the entire state of Louisiana and related cultural areas. In our efforts to accomplish this mission, we will focus on particular areas of historic significance. The first focus region will be the Great River Road - an approximately 70 mile stretch of land connecting Baton Rouge and New Orleans that was home to some of Louisiana’s most prolific plantations. The River Road Initiative (RRI) is a special project dedicated to making this region’s history more visible, accessible, and engaging to locals and tourists alike. In this region, a collection of mansions has been meticulously preserved. However, there are a substantial number of lost architectural gems, smaller historical sites, and other cultural elements significant to everyday life that have gone and continue to go unnoticed and unprotected. The goal of the RRI is to highlight these under appreciated historical and cultural elements through projects and exhibits created by the state’s young professionals.

The Preservation Technology and Research Consortium of Louisiana: The PTRC-LA brings together historians, scientists, and engineers of various backgrounds who are all dedicated to strengthening the education, research, and promotion of our state’s history and culture. This collaboration works to promote a dialogue between historians and scientists to promote the development of technologies and methods that assist in preservation and historical investigations.
